ART: Old Pencil Crayon Drawing!

I don't quite remember when I did this  (I would guess grade 10?) ,
but I have recently uncovered it while looking through the box of stuff under my bed.
I don't even know if it had a purpose ( for school maybe?).
BUT...
It made me smile.
It is so happy and cute...
...and so that is why I am posting this.
So maybe YOU will smile.
^_^

LIFE/ FASHION: Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!
I know I did! (Even though I caught the flu half way through!)
I have a large heap of chocolate that is ready, and waiting patiently for when my appetite decides to return.
(I am also keeping it safely stashed away from my three younger siblings. Yes, three! They can be overwhelming at times, but I love them ^_^ ).
...
Easter makes me think of bunnies which makes me think of my favourite, and most certainly stylish, bunny... FIFI LAPIN!
"Nice outfits!"
Fifi is always up with the latest trends, and was one of the reasons I was inspired to make this blog!
(This picture is from Fifi's website!)
Check her out at: fifi-lapin.blogspot.com !

LIFE: OMG! I am going to be so old!

I just noticed that I am EXACTLY 9 months away from turning 20!
(You can tell how scared I am by my pic above!)
I will be entering another decade, and am not sure how I feel about that...
Personally, I think it is pretty old, however in the big picture it really is not that bad.
Yet, say I live to 100. Twenty is one fifth of my life, if I even have the opportunity to reach 100.
Speaking of age... My Great grandmother recently turned 101 on March 21st! (Now that IS old!)
Hopefully long life runs in the family, cause I don't think I will feel like dying for quite awhile ! ^_^

Oui oui! Je suis une "Dior Diva!"
What is a Dior Diva?
Basically you sign up, and you become one just like that!
What is the point?
You get free stuff!
How can I be one?
Well... it works like this:
1. Go to this website and sign up.
2. Once you have signed up, you will receive e-mails from Dior.com as well as receive an instant coupon to get a free mini wallet (pictured below) with any Dior beauty purchase at The Bay.
3. Keep your receipts when you buy Dior beauty products! (These are you tickets to free stuff! ^_^ )
4. For every dollar you spend (before taxes), you have 1 point ( It doesn't matter if it is $1 Canadian or $1 American. Whatever your country's dollar is.)
Note: You will not receive points back for going over with the receipts you hand in Ex: Say you have 3 receipts totaling $103. You will be able to redeem them for the 100 point reward, but will not have those extra 3 points.
5. The "points to rewards" system works like this:

Receive deluxe travel sizes of Dior best sellers in an adorable mini Dior shopping bag.

7. Finally you send in your receipts to the address provided, and within 6-8 weeks you will receive your reward in the mail!

I bought this ...

... then handed my receipts in and received this (below image) a few weeks later!
(I received the 250 point reward.)

Dior has had a lot of success with the addition of their Dior Diva VIP Program, because not many makeup companies offer a rewards program.
All I can say is: "J'adore Dior!"

FASHION/ART: Nailpolish A.K.A. My Obsession

Okay, so maybe I have a tiny problem...
It's just that whenever I see a colour, I see opportunity.
I have become addicted to buying nail polish within the last 6 months.
However, I will blame it on the fact that when I was working at McDonald's you weren't allowed to wear it, so therefore everyday I worked there, nail polish was brought to my attention.
I had then moved on to work seasonally at Coach (Yes, Coach! OMG!), where nail polish was permitted!
And so... for Christmas, what do I ask for? The 18 colour set of Sephora by OPI nail laquer from Sephora!
That was definitely a collection booster for sure! My collection has sure blossomed over the past months.
Currently I am liking light pinks (I am not usually a #1 pink fan), and light purples.
Some examples:
"Teenage Dream" - Katy Perry for OPI (I actually don't own this, but borrowed from my friend Elizabeth).
"Rose Confidentiel" - Chanel (The bottle on the left in the top image).
Even last night, I gave in once again and bought a new colour. (In the above image.)
This was basically because Sephora was being nice and sent out 15% off coupons via e-mail!
I went with my BFF Anja to Sephora to take advantage of the coupon, and I ended up choosing "On Stage" which is a nice opaque grey-plum colour! Very sophisticated, haha! ^_^  Anja walked away with "Dear Diary..." (sheer warm light pink) and "Its Bouquet With Me" (sheer violet with silver and holographic chunky glitter), which are both very pretty!
I am also very much in love with Sephora's newest ballerina-inspired colours, the "Urban Ballerina" collection, that has wonderful names like: "Break A Leg-Warmer!" (opaque charcoal grey), "The Way Tutu His Heart" (opaque light pink), and "Leotard Optional" (opaque mocha beige).
As of today, I own a total of 62 bottles of nail polish.
Who knows what this number will be in a year? Or even by the end of summer?
Will I even continue to be addicted? Or will I get to the point where I have had enough?
Who knows... for only time can tell.
XOXO

LIFE: Squirrel saver! (1st real post!)

Wednesday (April 20th, 2011) was no ordinary day.
For some reason the weather here in London has not been very friendly.
We have had practically 7 months of winter.
On this particular freezing Wednesday, as I just hopped off the bus to begin the short walk to my house, something fell from the sky. (And, it is not something you usually see falling.)
It was raining all right, and a little something extra... But not cats, nor dogs, in fact it was a baby squirrel!
I was certainly confused at first, and I believed it to be dead, however it was alive!
This squirrel had been dropped by a large crow, who was to most likely eat it for dinner, and it was patiently waiting a few meters away. Anyways, since I am a true lover of animals...
I COULDN'T JUST LEAVE HIM THERE! (In the middle of the road on a freezing cold day with a crow the size of my dog meters away!) So, since I was about 1 block away from my house I thought I would run home and grab an old towel to scoop him up in, cause I was kinda nervous that he might bite me or have rabies or blood or something. But, as I turned to leave, the crow took another chance at a meal and started pecking at the baby squirrel again! This made me so mad! I decided that I could not leave this squirrel unattended, and so I called my house in hopes somebody would be home.
Fortunately my dad was home sick from work (Thanks dad!) and I convinced him to bring me an old towel and a box. When we got back home I was delighted at how serious my dad had become with my "squirrel situation". He immediately began looking for a syringe and mixing up some sugar-water in order to hydrate little squirrelly. We noticed the squirrel's breathing improve as he warmed up and became hydrated.
I quickly Googled : squirrel growth chart, so I could get an idea of the age of my little furry friend and concluded that he was approximately 5 weeks old. (So young!) He didn't have any front teeth yet (just bottoms), his tail wasn't fluffed up yet, and his eyes were still closed.
When my mom got home from work, she met the squirrel and also helped out by going to the vet to buy some replacement milk powder (that we also Googled) that squirrels could drink, even though its main use is for puppies. We made sure to feed him every 2 hours, as we were instructed by a friend of a friend who helps injured wildlife. However, unfortunately the squirrel didn't make it. :( He died after about 6 hours, most likely due to internal injuries from being dropped to the ground (probably a few times) by the crow.
Even though he died though, I still am happy that he did not have to die in a more unpleasant manner, such as being run over by a car, freezing to death, or as a crow's dinner.
Instead, he lived his last hours warm, with a full belly, and with people who care for him.
He died in peace.
(I think I might cry now...)

Really! I have proof! Hehehe...

So, my laptop decided to crash practically the day after I was finished all of my projects! Ahh! And no, I am not making up any lame excuse! It is true! I have evidence!
However, it has been fixed. :) Apparently the motherboard overheated.
I will be back to blogging now that I have the correct technology to do so.
So now that you have some trust in me, I hope, you can expect there to be real posts as opposed to my "posts" so far.
And in conlusion to my current laptop of 5 years... As of this summer I will be getting a new MacBook.

I mean it! ...really!

I am taking just one quick minute to let everyone, if anyone, know that I will be having more interesting posts. I am just currently working on an art history timeline, and studying for a 3D class test!
XOXO
Bon nuit! <3

Update: Here is my finished timeline in which I got perfect on! Yay! ^_^
If you can't understand it, it is a foldable timeline for "Painting Through History" in which you had to include Mannerism, Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassicism.

I will!

Yes, that is right!

I am so serious now about actually writing a blog!
I will write, and post photos, and BLOG the heck out of this thing! :)
Truthfully, what renewed my urge to blog, was the fact that I have been brought to their attention lately.
I have fallen in love with the blogs of Fifi Lapin, and Kris Atomic, who I find very inspiring and really neat!
Not to mention that fact that a couple of my friends have been very diligent and committed to their own blogs recently.
I love being creative, and I was tired of seeing others doing what I really want to do.
So... Voila! I am forcing myself to make free time.
Instead of sleeping, or watching movies, I shall blog.
Plain and simple.
...
I promise! <3
